McCain Buckles to Far Right... Wanted to Pick... →
For weeks, advisers close to the campaign said, McCain had wanted to name as his running mate his good friend Senator Joe Lieberman. But by the end of last weekend, the outrage from Christian…
Stark Contrast
The memories I have of Sundays during my childhood are pretty consistent, and what a contrast with the Sundays I have enjoyed the last 15 years.
As I remember Sundays at Dorsersstraat 58, we went to church pretty regularly. We’d head to the local Gereformeerde Kerk (here’s their current website) where I’d hope that this was the week when they offered a ”Children...

Holiday Sales
I saw the deal that Best Buy has going on for the Labor Day holiday weekend: no interest for 3 years on any High Definition Television set up over $1,000…wow. With my history of financial discipline, that actually sounds like an awesome deal. But, is this what Jesus would want me to buy? We can barely pay all the bills each month. I guess I already answered my own question.

My favorite quote by Arial Narrow: “I Hate You So Much.”
What does this say about me that I chuckled out loud when watching this video?

Alignment Dilemma
I am realizing that one of the principal reasons why I don’t “go for the ask” in order to give away key ministry responsibilities, and why I hesitate to pull in volunteers to join and participate in the process of planning, organizing and “strategizing” key programs from the ground floor is due to our values. One of Cornerstone’s important values is to stay true...
Hot Seat
As I got into my hot car to drive home this afternoon, and tried not to burn my nose with the hot metal of my sunglasses, it reminded me of the rare hot days I experienced growing up.
Growing up in Holland, we had perhaps 5-10 hot days each summer. If my mom didn’t have time to drive us to the beach for the day, we would wait for the community pool in Nieuw-Vennep to open up so that we...
