Book Review: Family-Integrated Church
Each time I browse Children’s Ministry Blogs I come across these well-meaning and frankly, very emotionally statements. However, year over year my thoughts about this issue become even more convinced that giving the whole family a shared experience each weekend is not the way to go. I love how Cornerstone sees the weekend service as a distinct educational opportunity, where even the fellowship, music and atmosphere is perfectly tuned to be age-specific. Age-specific to adults or youth or kids. Nothing that would be a cultural disconnect or distraction is allowed to make much of an impact so that the Holy Spirit can freely work.
Now, do our kids and our families need some shared experiences that have a spiritual focus? I believe so… but I have yet to come across the “right” or most effective method.
