New Volunteer Leadership
As per-usual, we’re continually recruiting volunteers and developing leaders for our children’s ministries. I’ve been talking to my staff about how we can “saturate” the renewed children’s ministry vision in as many places, ministry group, methods and media as possible. Here are some ideas on ways we’re going to (or hoping to) get the word out among the people of our church.
- Parent Meeting: So much is changing in the fall, so we’re hosting a parent focus group. I’d actually would like to host 2 or 3 of them around two different weekends. We’ll be talking about what the ministry wision is and what it will look like next year. Since I’ll have so many parents face to face, I’ll also share my vision for joining a serving team.
- Men’s Ministry: I had a great meeting with our Men’s Pastor and we agreed that we need to increase our presence and keep sharing our vision amongst our men. I’m hoping to speak at a men’s breakfast or other men’s gathering over the summer. What better way for men to impact the next generation of men by leading (a small group of) boys? Oh yeah!
- Parent Communication: It used to be pretty common for me to send out an email to all the parents whose kids attend regularly. I will spend more tim sharing the vision and the cool things that God is doing in The Zone and in the emails I’ll continue to mention some serving opportunities they can take advantage of.
- Singles Ministry: Cornerstone has a lot of these men and women. I’d love to infuse the CM with some younger singles, so we’ll try out reaching this group as well.
