Most Inspirational Place
One of the most inspirational places I have ever visited must have been the spring at Caesarea Philippi.
It can be found in Israel, about 25 miles north of the Sea of Galilee and at the base of Mt. Hermon, and is the location of one of the largest springs feeding the Jordan River.
This abundant water supply has made the area very fertile and attractive for religious worship of all kinds throughout the centuries. My pastor helped us to draw parallels with Sidona, AZ here in the US. Numerous temples to all sorts of gods were built at this city in the Hellenistic and Roman periods. In the middle of this new-age-y place where everyone gathered to worship anything, is where Jesus famously asked his disciples, “Who do people say that I am?”
